Auto Hide Windows 7 Desktop Icons & Taskbar with AutoHideDesktopIcons

In Windows 7, you can hide all desktop icons at once through the desktop right-click menu. However, you have to manually enable and disable the option every time you want to hide and unhide desktop icons. Auto Hide Desktop Icons, on the other hand, is designed to auto hide icons on your Windows 7 desktop after a set time interval. For example, if you set 5 seconds as the time interval, then the icons will be hidden automatically after 5 seconds of desktop inactivity.

Icons can be unhidden simply by clicking mouse on any area of the desktop. Then, after 5 seconds inactivity on the desktop, the icons will be hidden again. You can choose to display the icons by clicking left, right or middle mouse button. The program allows user to set time interval between 3 to 100 sec.

If you like with how it works, you can launch the program automatically at Windows startup. The “Always start minimized” option lets you send the application to the tray, which is useful if you don’t want to minimize the program every time it is started. You can click the close button at the top right-corner to minimize the application to the tray if you need to do it manually after, for instance, setting up the time interval.

Additionally, you can also hide the taskbar automatically if you want to.

You can exit the application by clicking the Esc button which can be found at the bottom of the app.

Auto Hide Desktop Icons is a nice way to see your cool desktop wallpaper without icons. It can be downloaded from the developer’s website. It works with Windows 7 as well as Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, Windows 2003, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Me, Windows NT and Windows 98.
