Uninstalling IE8 in Windows XP is as simple as uninstalling other programs. Access “Add/Remove Programs” from the Control Panel and find the name of the browser in the listed programs. Click the remove button to uninstall it. IE8 will be uninstalled, and you’ll be prompted to restart your Windows to revert to the earlier version of Internet Explorer.

For users that install Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) after installing IE8 may not be able to uninstall the browser. In this case, you have to uninstall the service pack before uninstaling IE8.
